Sam Smith is a few days away from killing it at the GRAMMY awards with multiple wins and nominations, before that though he releases a new visual or the single “Lay Me Down,” from his critically acclaimed In The Lonely Hour album.
Each video from the album follows a story line, this one falls right in line with that theme.
Starting at a church in front of a crowd full of people with candles, Sam’s vocals carry a more powerful tone, as he stands in front singing at a funeral for a loved one. As the camera pans towards the back, we can see a flash of happier times for him, taking him back to the wedding ceremony, before landing right back in present time as he reminisces over their good times.
