Just a year ago, it was all jokes when folks first heard his vocals on “Trap Queen,” but a few months later, he had one of fastest rising street bangers on the web, before you knew it, the track was on the Billboard charts an then it broke through into the mainstream and took on a life of it’s own.
Everyone from Drake, Fallout Boys to Taylor Swift all hopped on the bandwagon.
That was only the beginning, Fetty Wap then followed up with three more hit records, making Billboard history by being the first act to simultaneously chart their first four charting singles in the top 10 of Hot Rap Songs.
All of that success accumulated into huge anticipation for his self-titled debut album which he released last week.
Now the numbers are in for Fetty Wap’s debut album, and they’re impressive.
With 129,000 copies sold the first week, Fetty has landed himself his first No. 1 album, on his first effort. Pretty good considering 13 of the tracks featured on the project were released as singles and you could stream for free on SoundCloud.
Congrats Fetty!
