Yesterday Joey Bada$$ was spotted in New York City taking part in the peaceful protest for Freddie Gray, organized by Russell Simmons.
He was more than just a part of the crowd or just simply holding a sign, at one point he was even leading the demonstration in chants while holding a sign of solidarity that read “I am Freddie Gray. 1989-2015.”
Joey, who just announced his “World Domination” tour days ago, and some of his Pro Era affiliates interacted with fans who recognized them during the march, and he hasn’t been the only member of the Hip Hop & Rap community to take such a hands-on approach to being a part of the solution (hoping at least), after Wale marched with high school students, speaking to them about their future.
That being said marching hasn’t been the only response though.
Social Media played a major role as many took to numerous platforms to get their messages across. The Game even wrote an article for Billboard in which he explained why he favored this approach to social media.
The more varied approaches that are taken and the more who contribute, the better.
