Drake is out here playing chess, I hope you’re all paying attention.
In case you missed the line, here’s how it goes:
I wanna see my niggas go insane
You gon’ make me step out of my fuckin’ frame
You gon’ make me buy bottles for Charlamagne
You gon’ make me go out of my fuckin’ way
As the line said, Drake went out of his f*cking way and sends over 6 (6 God, get it?) bottles of vintage Dom Pérignon along with a note saying “let’s be friends, Aubrey Graham”.
This is surprising because it’s well documented that Charlamagne Tha God has been a hard critic of Drake for years although he has always credited Drake for his musical prowess. The is a power play on many levels, the most important one being a major shot at Funkmaster Flex who decided to slander Drake in a Twitter rant.
Charlamagne Tha God and Funkmaster Flex hate each other, in fact, Charlamagne just gave him Donkey Of The Day yesterday. So Drake offering an olive branch is a classic “enemy of a my enemy, is my friend” tactic.
Don’t expect anymore more Funkmaster Flex & Drake interviews but don’t be surprised if you see Drake on the Breakfast Club in the future.
