Kendrick Lamar’s “untitled unmastered.” Debuts At No. 1

Last week Kendrick Lamar surprised the internet with the unannounced release of “untitled unmastered” project. The album is consisted of tracks that didn’t make the final cut of To Pimp A Butterfly, due to clearance and scheduling issues.

The surprise project has earned the Compton MC his second number 1 album in less than a year, this places him within the Drake and Future category since they’re the only other 2 artists to do that.

The album sold a reported 178,000 equivalent album units, 142k of those being pure album sales, for the week ending in March 10, according to Nielsen Music. The second week’s number should also be impressive since the album has also been released to retail the past week.
