TMZ caught up with T.I. at the airport to get his thoughts on the criticism of Beyoncé’s performance at the Super Bowl halftime show. T.I. expressed his support for Beyoncé and dismissed those who have criticized her like former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani.
It’s an attack on cops that attack our people,” T.I. said. “How they gonna protest against our protest? I don’t think that Beyoncé was being malicious in any way in her demonstration, and I feel that anything that is done to demonstrate against a pure demonstration is gonna lose in the end.
He continued by turning the table on criticizers.
Everything that we’re doing as far as the Black Lives Matter movement,” T.I. said. “It is to speak out and fight against unnecessary, unlawful death of our people, by people who are supposed to be put in a position of authority to protect and serve our people. So if you are against that, then to me, that is un-American.
I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers,” Giuliani said, “who are the people who protect her and protect us to keep us alive. What she should be doing in the African-American community and in all communities is build up respect for police officers and focus on the fact that when something goes wrong then, okay, we’ll work on that. The vast majority of police officers risk their lives to keep us safe.
