One thing that never gets old in Hip Hop is a bunch of MCs getting in a circle and taking turns displaying their rap capabilities.
It’s the purest form of Hip Hop.
Approaching the 2015 Juno Awards, CBC Music invited the nominees for “Rap Recording of the Year” to take part in first ever Juno cypher. Taking place in a special area of CBC’s office in Toronto, the 8-minute long friendly competition features verses from Tre Mission, Saukrates and Naturally Born Strangers, while the beat is provided by nominated producer Marco Polo.
Toronto pretty much has the whole music scene in a choke hole right now, so this Cypher makes sense.
The only T.Dot artist that couldn’t make it it out was P. Reign who was on his way to Australia with OVO.
He was nominated for his 2014 EP Dear America.
Check out the cypher and leave your thoughts.
