Meek Mill Receives House Arrest But Avoids Jail Time

Never heard of a judge telling a musician that they can't release music before.

Last year Meek Mill violated his probation when he took an unauthorized trip to Los Angeles for the American Music Awards with Nicki Minaj in November. Since then Meek had to wait the entire holiday with the idea of going back to prison looming in the back of his head.

His faith has now been decided and luckily, the Philly spitter received some good news today, learning he’ll have to serve 3 months on house arrest.

Meek Mill

The news is bitter sweet though, since one of the conditions of his house arrest is that he will be inactive from rapping and performing for possibly until summer; which he’ll only be able to do charitable work for the community of Philadelphia. The Judge banned him from releasing any new form of music.

Never heard of a judge telling a musician that they can’t release music before, you’d think something like that would be unconstitutional right? I guess not.

Either way, this outcome is the lesser of two evils, With his Dreamchasers 4 project pending, a lengthy jail sentence would have likely wreaked havoc on Meek’s career. Although he still can’t perform his music, at least he’s not completely cut off from the world.

Don’t expect to hear any new diss tracks going at Drake and 50 Cent any time soon, good thing he released War Pain when he did.

He has to turn himself in on March 1st.
