Atlanta’s WSB-TV reports the accident involved a single car, not a hit-and-run as originally reported. The rapper was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died at the scene while two women were also injured, but survived. Shawty Lo’s Twitter account has been updated with a statement as well.

Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo, real name Carlos Walker, has been killed in a car accident in Georgia on I-285 after leaving an Atlanta club early Wednesday morning. News of the Bankhead native’s passing spread throughout social media and has been confirmed by numerous sources.
