BET capped off an amazing evening, and one of their best ‘Awards’ to date, with one final, riveting tribute to Prince. The late icon’s longtime collaborator Sheila E. showed up and brought the house down on Sunday night.
The Oakland native set it off on the drums, crushing a rhythm section while belting out the lyrics to “Housequake.” Then, she headed to the front of the stage for “Erotic City,” clad in a full white pantsuit, leading two backup dancers before taking to a cowbell and mini-drum setup.
At the conclusion of her performance, Sheila strapped on a purple electric guitar, running through “Baby I’m a Star” while a horn section blared behind her.
